E-commerce backend at scale

Cart, catalog, and checkout backend serving a high-volume e-commerce platform via GraphQL — designed for throughput, graceful degradation, and predictable latency.

Java GraphQL Kafka Distributed caches

The problem. E-commerce backends die under two kinds of load — flash sales and unexpected integrations. You need a system that fails gracefully in both.

What we build. A GraphQL surface backed by independent services for cart, catalog, inventory, and checkout. Circuit breakers and tiered caching mean one slow dependency doesn’t take the checkout page with it.

Scope of past engagements

  • GraphQL APIs serving millions of sessions per day
  • Checkout paths with p99 latency budgets under 300ms
  • Kafka-based event sourcing for downstream systems
This engagement is described in generic terms. Specific clients, metrics, and internal system names are intentionally withheld.
